The best thing in his work  is the possibility of using creativity every day, getting inspirations from art, music, movies, pop-world and traveling the world as much as possible. Writing songs, creating music videos and designing new products and artworks is a way of life that Sami truly embraces: “If I can bring joy to someone through my work, then I have succeeded.”

Sami was born in a middle-class family, and started studying music when he was 7 years old with violin lessons. Every afternoon, when he has ready from school, Sami stayed with his grandmother, before traveling to the city nearby to take violin lessons. Sami played the violin for over 15 years, five of them playing along in a symphony orchestra. After violin, Sami realized that his heart belonged to singing, so he started taking classical singing lessons. Sami now has also over 9 years of opera training, for example in the prestigious Helsinki Conservatory of Music, and his classical training has provided great keys for the future.

Recently Sami has taken his direction to more danceable direction, composing songs featuring the latest electronic beats. Sami´s debut album “Roller Coaster” was released in  worldwide, was a Grammy contender in 2017, and can be found from digital music stores, like iTunes & amazon. All the songs and lyrics in “Roller Coaster” are composed by Sami Ilmola. “Roller Coaster” – album ,  was also featured in Billboard magazine, the issue being titled “The Class of 2017” – Grammy contenders issue.

After making “Roller Coaster”, Sami released a music video for his album’s leading song “Can’t Break Me Down”. The video can be found on such interned platforms as youtube, dailymotion and vimeo. The video shows Sami’s true artistic vision and made the public see something new.

Sami released his second album “S.M.I.” (meaning his initials) in 2019 with a new musical sound. After the release, he started making music videos for this album. “On My Way” was released in january 2020 and “Words” in march 2021.

Ilmola aloitti musiikin opiskelun 7 vuotiaana viulunsoitolla.

Ilmola on muotoillut tuotteita esim.

The Class of 2017, 59th Grammy contenders issue”.
